Editorial Destellos

Project Overview

Editorial Destellos is a Puerto Rico–based publisher focused on children’s books—and when we started this project, the goal was clear: build a new online store and refresh the brand’s visual identity, keeping just the original logo.

Everything else? Open to change.

The client gave me a few color references she loved—adoquines blue, flamboyán red, golden yellow—and from there, I crafted a look and feel that supported her mission: sharing stories, culture, and imagination with young readers across the island (and beyond).

Objectives

  • Develop a fresh brand identity while keeping the existing logo
  • Build a Shopify store that supports book sales and back-end management
  • Reflect the spirit of Puerto Rican storytelling through color and design
  • Create a visual system that feels warm, bold, and true to the audience—kids and grownups alike

Execution Details

  • Small brand refresh with a custom color palette and soft typographic system
  • Shopify theme customization to support product presentation and navigation
  • Development of visual assets including banners and product thumbnails
  • Implementation of essential apps and product structure

This wasn’t about bells and whistles—it was about clarity, personality, and making sure the visual choices felt connected to the stories Editorial Destellos brings to life.

Results

The result is a store that feels vibrant, clean, and full of purpose. Everything now flows with more consistency—from product pages to brand presence—and the founder has a digital space she can continue to grow confidently.

Working With the Client

One of my favorite parts of this project was how open and trusting the process felt. The client told me she felt heard—and as someone who builds everything with intention, that meant a lot.
