Project Overview
Chebelleza is a mother-daughter-owned jewelry and lifestyle store in Puerto Rico. Their world is full of curated pieces, meaningful details, and a strong sense of legacy—and when they were ready to launch their first online store, I got to help bring that world to life.
This project covered everything: inventory, operations, training, and branding. It was labor-intensive and deeply rewarding—especially because it brought me back to my roots as a jewelry buyer.
Objectives
- Create a reliable system to track all physical inventory
- Upload and organize the product catalog in Shopify
- Train the team to use Shopify POS and manage products confidently
- Develop a brand-first online store that felt like Chebelleza
Approach & Strategy
We started with a full in-store stocktake. I developed a system specifically for this stage, which helped us capture every detail of Chebelleza’s assortment. From there, I uploaded all product photos to an Airtable base—this is where the magic happened.
Silmarie, one of the owners (and my main collaborator throughout the project), beautifully categorized every item. Her eye for detail and understanding of the product made this phase feel like a true partnership. Once we had a clean, structured catalog, I imported everything to Shopify and moved into platform setup.
I also trained Silmarie on Shopify POS so she could confidently run the store day to day—tracking sales, managing products, and creating a system they could keep up with long after launch.
Execution Details
- Custom stocktake and inventory capture process
- Airtable base setup for visual and functional product sorting
- Full Shopify product import and catalog management
- One-on-one POS training
- Development of a custom Shopify storefront aligned with Chebelleza’s brand
Every step was tailored to the way Chebelleza works—and how they want to grow.
Results
Chebelleza now has a fully functioning online store that reflects who they are: thoughtful, beautiful, and rooted in intention. Their team has a solid system in place, and they’re set up for smooth day-to-day operations—from the shop floor to the online checkout.
Working With the Client
This project felt extra special. Working with Silmarie and her mom reminded me of why I love retail in the first place. We spoke the same language—especially when it came to jewelry—and the connection was immediate. I got to be part of every layer of their process, from product development to platform setup, and that level of involvement was both meaningful and fun.
